What is TeleBurn?
TeleBurn is a service provided by Lehigh Valley Health Network that allows Jersey Shore Hospital emergency room physicians to work with the Lehigh Valley Regional Burn Center specialists 24/7. TeleBurn allows patients to receive the highest quality care locally. It also helps caregivers at the Lehigh Valley Hospital’s Regional Burn Center prepare for patients arrival, should they need to be transferred.
How does TeleBurn Work?
Using a digital camera, personal computer (PC) with broadband Internet connection and Web-based (OnBase®) software, our emergency department staff sends images of burn injuries to the Lehigh Valley Hospital burn physicians for review and assessment. The burn specialists will view the images, while discussing the case with our emergency room physicians over the phone, expediting the delivery of specialty care to patients, using predefined protocols.
