Jersey Shore Hospital Emergency Department
and Physicians Notified of Medical Command Accreditation

The Jersey Shore Hospital Emergency Department has been notified that they have successfully completed all the requirements for reaccreditations for a Medical Command Facility through the PA Department of Health. This accreditation designates the hospital as a facility capable of providing medical command to paramedic personnel. Aaron Kolb, M.D., Thomas Forker, M.D., Adam Perry, M.D., Ronald Eister, M.D. and George Manchester, M.D. were also presented with Certificates of Recognition noting the physicians’ completion of the voluntary medical command physician certification program administered by the Department of Health and all standards applicable to a physician functioning as a medical command physician. These physicians are responsible for providing medical direction to paramedic personnel and assisting in the duties of medical control within an accredited medical command facility. This accreditation, for both the Emergency Department and the Emergency Department Physicians, is effective until 2010.
