Jersey Shore Hospital recognizes employees for patient safety award Jersey Shore, PA (September 29, 2008) - Jersey Shore Hospital's Patient Safety Committee recently recognized four hospital women for going above and beyond their expected call of duty. A surprise luncheon was held in the Jersey Shore Hospital Board Room on Sept. 24 to recognize Valerie Hart, Barb Rogers, Linda Baier and Korena Ream, four phlebotomists from the hospital's Laboratory Services department. According to Betsy Crossley, these four women were selected because of their heightened awareness of their patients' safety needs. "During construction of our new facility, parking was limited and accessibility to the lab for laboratory services was challenging for some patients to navigate," said Crossley. "These phlebotomists would actually go to the patients' vehicle in the parking lot to draw their specimens so patients would not need to walk to the lab!" Crossley said that by doing this, potential injuries to patients were prevented. The four women have 45 combined years of service to the hospital and were awarded with certificates for their hard work and dedication to patient safety. Jersey Shore Hospital is a rural community hospital located in Jersey Shore, Pa, serving residents of Lycoming, Clinton and surrounding counties.
