Progress is Visible on JS Hospital Site

Jersey Shore, PA (January 26, 2007) - As patients flow into Jersey Shore Hospital, it is apparent that something big is happening. With the mild winter season, construction has been able to progress almost continuously. Looking over the former parking lot, you can see where concrete and steel footers have been placed to support the new 45,000 square foot addition. It is becoming even more clear how large the new addition will be. "It's good to see concrete and steel," said Bill Camerer, III, Chairman of the Hospital Building Committee. "After many years of planning, progress is definitely in motion."

Tuesday, January 30th the Emergency Room Entrance will be relocated to the entrance near the Lloyd R. Forcey Imaging Center. The original ER/Central Registration entrance will eventually become the extender, connecting the existing facility and the new building. Hospital officials have added a new outpatient registration area for patients having laboratory and radiology testing done. The new registration area will offer a shorter walking distance to reach these services. Same Day Surgery, Physical Therapy and Cardiopulmonary Services will continue to register at the Central Registration area. The new entrance will be open from 6:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. Patients accessing the building after 11:00 p.m. will enter through the Ambulance Entrance to preserve the security and confidentiality of patients.
