Jersey Shore Hospital Receives $200,000 Contribution

Jersey Shore, PA- Jersey Shore Hospital has received a $200,000 contribution to benefit their Capital Campaign efforts supporting the facility replacement project. Howard and Jane Thompson, of Jersey Shore, made the check presentation to Hospital officials this week. Mr. and Mrs. Thompson are long time residents of the Jersey Shore community. Mr. Thompson was born in the original Jersey Shore Hospital on the corner of Howard and Thompson streets and served on the Board of Directors from 1977 through 1981. Mrs. Thompson served on the Shore Properties Board of Directors from 1991 through 1996 and on the Hospital Board of Directors from 1993 until 1997.

"We have lived in Jersey Shore for many years and we feel the Hospital is a great asset to our community," said Howard Thompson. "The Hospital has provided so many people with care, we felt that supporting them in providing the latest in technology and healthcare will only continue to benefit the community we love. We feel it is important to continue to upgrade the physical plant of JSH and have the most up to date technology available for our community."

Jersey Shore Hospital began construction on their new, two-story addition accessible from the existing building in November. The state-of-the-art facility will include a new Emergency Department, Surgical Suites, Radiology and Imaging suites, and inpatient units with private rooms.
