Jersey Shore Hospital Employees Supporting New Hospital
Jersey Shore (July 17, 2006) – For the employees at Jersey Shore Hospital it’s more than just a place to work. It’s a career, second family and a place to call their own. In support of the ongoing Capital Campaign to support the new facility set to break ground this year, Hospital employees have contributed over $181,000 in pledges and gifts. “We are very close to our goal of $200,000 for employee fundraising,” says Terry Schreiber, Associate VP and co-Chairman of the Employee Gift Giving Committee. “The committee set a goal and expected much of it to be contributed in pledges and the remaining in small fundraising opportunities, however, our employees have gone above and beyond in the short amount of time since setting the goal.”
Employees have also planned a community yard sale, a seafood festival and other events to support the campaign. The 1st Annual Crab Crackin’ Fest will be held Saturday, September 23rd at the Antlers in Williamsport. Tickets are available now at the Hospital Switchboard for $50.00 each.
“The contributions and planning that our employees have organized is a testament to their loyalty to our Hospital and community. We believe in this project and are excited to begin building,” said Betsy Crossley, Vice President of Nursing.
Jersey Shore Hospital will break ground this year to make way for a new $10 million facility encompassing another $5 million in new equipment and technology. The Hospital currently employs over 250 people who have served 2,539 years of total service.
