Lucas Trucking Contributes to JS Hospital Capital Campaign
Jersey Shore, PA (July 5, 2006) – Lucas Trucking Corp. of Jersey Shore has contributed $10,000 to Jersey Shore Hospital in memory of its founders, James E. and Dorothy M. Lucas, to Jersey Shore Hospital. The donation will benefit the ongoing Capital Campaign for the new hospital addition, set to begin this year.
“As a long time member of the Jersey Shore Community, we felt it was important to contribute to the Hospital. Our founders supported this community and the Hospital, and we felt this was the best way to continue that support,” says Carol Rainy , who owns the company along with James C. Lucas and Sara Fidler.
Mr. And Mrs. Lucas founded the company, located on Rt. 220, in 1950. Lucas Trucking is still family-owned and currently employs 79 people.
“Contributions from community members like Lucas Trucking continue to remind us of the everlasting support we have in our community. We are very pleased to accept this donation and are proud to continue the growth of our community,” said Hubert Valencik, Chairman of the Jersey Shore Hospital Board of Directors.
Jersey Shore Hospital will begin building a new, two-story addition accessible from the existing building this year. The state-of-the-art facility will include a new Emergency Department, Surgical Suites, Radiology and Imaging suites, and inpatient units with private rooms.
