JS Hospital Wraps Up Week Long Celebration for Hospital Week

Jersey Shore, PA (May 12, 2006) – Celebration was in the air this week for Jersey Shore Hospital’s annual National Hospital Week festivities. Hospital Week is celebrated on the national level each May and is sponsored by the American Hospital Association.

To celebrate, the JSH Hospital Week committee planned numerous activities for it’s employees. Monday kicked off the week with a continental breakfast for all employees, Tuesday featured a Homemade soup contest, Wednesday celebrated with a backyard BB Q, a favorite for many employees. The BBQ offered black diamond steak or chicken sandwiches and a variety of side dishes to top off the meal. Thursday brought large crowds for the ice cream sundae party and Friday wrapped up the week with the Chinese Auction featuring over $1,000 in prizes for employees to win. Employees were each given ten tickets to bid for the prize of their choice. “Jersey Shore Hospital did a wonderful job to recognize it’s employees and the hard work we that we do,” said Bloodbank Supervisor Brenda Shuman-Johnson. “We all appreciated everything that was done for us.”

The appreciation from the employees shows as well. The employees have committed over $180,000 to the Capital Campaign to support the Building Fund. Jersey Shore Hospital was established as a community hospital in 1922 and has remained a primary non-profit healthcare provider for the region.
