Darius Abadi, D.O. Joins Jersey Shore Hospital Medical Staff
 JERSEY SHORE, Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2001 - Darius Abadi, D.O., today became the latest addition to the Jersey Shore Hospital medical staff. Dr. Abadi is a general surgeon skilled in an extensive list of surgical procedures including Endoscopy, Mastectomy, Appendectomy, Gall Bladder, Thyroidectomy, Hernia, Bowel Surgery, Pacemaker and Laporoscopy.
Lou Ditzel, CEO and president of the hospital, said Dr. Abadi is filling an important need for the community and the Hospital.
Abadi received his undergraduate degree from Western University of Health Sciences in California. He completed his residency at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he achieved the distinction of being named Surgical Resident of the Year.
According to Ditzel, Dr. Abadi's appointment is the result of an ongoing, physician recruitment program at JSH.
"We are on a continuous mission to fill gaps in the community's provider base," noted Ditzel. "At the present time, much of this effort is aimed at medical specialties. Also, we are focused on coordinating recruitment efforts with other organizations in the region to ensure a healthy balance."
Dr. Abadi's office is located at the Nicklas Medical Arts Building with Jersey Shore Medical Associates at 14 E. Central Avenue, Avis. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 753-8077. The office accepts most major insurances.
