Jersey Shore Hospital Receives Capital Campaign Donation

Jersey Shore, PA (December 27, 2007) - Officials from Jersey Shore Hospital accepted a $60,000 contribution from Jersey Shore resident Mr. Howard Thompson today to benefit the Capital Campaign. The $60,000 completes the original pledge of $200,000 made by Howard and Jane Thompson. "Again, we are very grateful that we have community members like Howard Thompson and his family. Our Hospital's mission is to provide high-quality and personalized healthcare to our communities, and this donation is a testament that those communities continue to support us," said Hubert Valencik, Chairman of the Hospital Board of Directors. "We are looking forward to the completion of this project and are happy to continue to provide high-quality care well into the future."

In November 2006 the Hospital broke ground on a 45,000 square foot addition to its existing facility. To date, roofing work is 99 percent complete and the first floor of the addition is nearing completion. Floor tiles are being laid, and electrical, plumbing, HVAC and drywall are all at least 90 percent complete on that floor. On the ground floor of the new building, plumbing, electrical and HVAC is 50 percent complete with interior framing 69 percent complete. The project, as a whole, is scheduled for completion at the end of June 2008.

When open, the new addition will house a new Central Registration Department servicing a new Emergency Department, Surgical Suites, Radiology Suites and Inpatient Care units.
