JS Hospital CNA Receives Patient Safety Award

Sharon Delaney, C.N.A. receives the JSH
Award for Excellence in Patient Safety
from Betsy Crossley, VP Nursing Administration.

Jersey Shore, PA (February 8, 2008) - For Sharon Delaney, the act of kindness and concern for patients is just part of her daily routine. Delaney, a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) was transporting a patient to their car for discharge when she came across another patient who became ill after having a test done inside the Hospital. Without hesitation, Delaney rushed to the patient's side to assess the situation. The need for further assistance was summoned and Sharon was able to support and comfort her until more help arrived, ultimately preventing further injury. Because of Sharon's concern for her patients and their ultimate health and safety, she was awarded the Hospital's award for excellence in Patient Safety. Sharon was awarded a cash prize and flowers for her efforts. Past winners include, an R.N., the Emergency Department, Central Registration and Jeff Cundiff, PA-C.

Patient Safety is a major initiative by healthcare providers nationwide. Jersey Shore Hospital supports those initiatives and believes excellence deserves rewards. Delaney has been a member of the Hospital team since 2001.
