Jersey Shore Hospital

Joan WatsonHospital Volunteers Make a Difference!

The Jersey Shore Hospital Volunteers are an important part of our healthcare team. We rely on our volunteers to provide support to our patients, assist in departmental duties and assist our patient's families in needs they may have.

Many of our volunteers greet hospital visitors and patients and offer an encouraging smile. Our surgical waiting rooms are staffed with volunteers to assist family members and provide general information regarding the hospital. Family members find comfort in knowing that our volunteers are there to assist and support them.

Our volunteers also offer office assistance to any department that may need help in faxing, filing, answering telephones and labeling supplies. Some of our volunteers donate their time to prepare beds, deliver meals and transport patients.

Jersey Shore Hospital Volunteers generally donate a minimum of four hours per week to the hospital. This may be donated in separate shifts or all at once.

Anyone can volunteer at Jersey Shore Hospital. If you are willing to donate a small amount of time on a regular basis, are compassionate and have a sincere desire to help people, we welcome you to join our team!

We encourage men and women of all ages to volunteer. It's a great service to your community and to yourself! It's also a great way to perform community service and looks wonderful on your resume.

Volunteering is beneficial to more than just patients! Volunteering helps to build friendships, gain self-esteem, lower stress levels and simply makes you feel GREAT!
