Samantha Carey

Samantha Weaver, RN, MSN, is our Chief Quality Officer. She is in charge of Quality Improvement and Risk Management. She is also responsible for facilitating the Pennsylvania Department of Health and Joint Commission accreditation surveys.

Samantha joined JSH in 2009.  She has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Pennsylvania College of Technology and a Master of Science in Nursing, with a specialization in education, from Walden University.  She is a member of the National League for Nursing, Pennsylvania State Nurses Association, and Central Pennsylvania Association for Health Care Risk Management.

She chairs the hospital’s Quality Performance Improvement Committee and Patient Care/Quality/Safety Committee.   She serves on numerous other hospital committees which include the Environment of Care Safety, Patient Safety, Blood Work Group, Infection Control, Utilization Review, Medical Records, and Ethics Committee.

Christine Haas

Christine E. Haas is our Chief Information Officer at Jersey Shore Hospital. She is in charge of managing technology initiatives for JSH that include strategic planning; software, application, and hardware selection/support; infrastructure management; automation and technology implementation. Also, Christine works with department managers and their teams to identify and address technology requirements and challenges.

Christine graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems from Eastern University. She spent 13 years as Director of Information Technology for the Diocese of Harrisburg before joining the JSH staff in October 2010.

Mark Rice, CPA is our Chief Financial Officer. Mark, is responsible for overseeing the financial, accounting, and budgetary process of the hospital and its affiliates. Mark joined Jersey Shore Hospital in 2010 as the Controller.

Mark graduated Magna Cum Laude from Lycoming College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting with a minor in Economics, and is a Pennsylvania Certified Public Accountant. Mark is also a 2007 graduate of the Leadership Lycoming program.

Prior to joining Jersey Shore Hospital, Mark worked as a Financial Analyst at Thermal Product Solutions in White Deer. Mark was not a stranger to healthcare when joining the hospital team, however, as a previous 11-year position at Parente Beard (previously Parente Randolph) allowed him many interactions with Jersey Shore Hospital and the healthcare field.
