What is Medical Nutrition Therapy
Medical Nutrition Therapy is a service provided by our Registered Dietitians that offers patients information and counseling on the following topics:
Do Registered Dietitians treat healthy people?
YES! Registered Dietitians help individuals learn about staying healthy and selecting the right foods. They are your most credible and reliable source of accurate nutrition information. An RD can help you develop a total eating plan that works for you and your lifestyle!
Does my health insurance cover my appointment with a Registered Dietitian?
It is necessary to see a professional with RD, LDN and be affiliated with an organization to have your insurance pay for medical nutional therapy as an outpatient. If your insurance company does offer that coverage, be sure to request this benefit! Medicare allows a certain number of visits for individuals with Diabetes or End-Stage Renal Disease. Check with your provider to determine if you are eligible.
